What is Trading?
When the average investor thinks of trading the market, he usually thinks in terms of buying and selling stocks. This is the most common and simple-to-understand approach Stocks are sold in individual shares. They are available for purchase through the New York Stock Exchange, the American Stock Exchange, and the NASDAQ. Investors may purchase shares in any quantity, as few or as many as they wish.
Stock Shares
Once purchasing a stock, the buyer owns those shares until deciding to sell them. The investor may decide the sell the shares the same day, the next week, or they can hold on to it for years, then pass them along to family members.
Stock Prices
Stocks change prices every day, depending on how valuable it seems to the buyers and sellers at that particular moment. Watching a real time stock quote can be fascinating, as the numbers sometimes rise and fall second-after-second. It can be mesmerizing to view the streaming quotes. Stock holders are also eligible to receive a dividend, a bonus given by the stock’s board of directors that reflects profits. The dividends are based on the company’s profits and change in value each year.
